How it works

Everything starts with the uploader on the front page. Pick one to ten photos from your phone or computer. Scans are best, but a clear photo of a print taken with your phone works too.

A short automated check looks at each file first. A second AI service sees a small copy once, makes sure the upload is a family photograph and is not sexual, and writes the one-line description and the era guess shown only to you on your page. It does not judge the people in it.

Then the first photo is restored as a free preview. It arrives with a watermark, at a size that lets you judge the face but not print. If you want to see a second photo before deciding, ask and we make one more preview for free.

If the preview looks like them, choose a pack and pay once. Your email is used for the receipt and the link to your photos, nothing else.

After payment every photo in the pack is restored in full, then upscaled, then prepared as print files. The share card and the reveal video are made when the last photo is done. On the Heirloom pack, one chosen frame is turned into a short four-second animation.

A restoration is faithful when the person in it is still the person you remember. That is the whole point of the work, and it is the one thing we refuse to trade for a prettier picture.

So there are things we never do to a face. We do not smooth skin. We do not reshape a jaw, a nose or a brow. We do not slim anyone. We do not add makeup. Nobody is made younger. Nothing is added to the photo and nothing is removed from it.

What we do is repair what damage took away: scratches, creases, fading, mould, water stains, the softness of a small print. Where the original is clear we keep it as it is. Where it is damaged we fill in the most likely version of what was there.

That last part matters. Every restoration is an interpretation of a damaged original. A face that was mostly gone in the scan is a best guess, not a recording. Please look at each result closely before you print it or send it to family. If anything reads wrong, use the try again button.

All packs come with the same care and the same guarantee. They differ in how many photos they hold, how large the files are and what you can print.

Prices are shown in euros in Germany and Spain, and in US dollars in Brazil and everywhere else.

The free preview arrives in about a minute. A paid pack renders every photo at once and is usually complete in a few minutes; the larger print files take a little longer to build.

You do not need to keep the page open. Your link keeps working, and we send it to your email as soon as everything is ready. On a busy day it takes a little longer; the result does not change.

The better the source, the less we have to guess. A flat scan at 600 dpi or more is ideal. If you only have your phone, place the print on a flat surface in daylight, hold the phone straight above it and avoid glare from windows and lamps.

Do not crop, sharpen or run a filter first; each of those removes detail we could have used. The upload is reduced to 4096 px on the long side, which is plenty for a 50×70 cm print from a 300–600 dpi scan. A tiny image pulled from a chat is the hardest case, though it often still works well for faces.

Under every restored photo there is a button that reads: doesn't look like them, try again. Press it and we restore that photo once more with extra attention to likeness. The new version sits next to the old one and you choose which one goes into the print files.

It is free, and you can press it as many times as you need for 14 days after purchase. Up to three redos can run at once. There is no form and nobody asks you why.

The print files are already sized at 300 dpi for their paper, so you can hand them to any print shop or photo lab without changes. Ask for a matte or lustre paper; glossy paper shows the small unevenness that old originals always carry.

Check the face at full size on a screen before you order a large print. A detail that looks fine on a phone can read differently at 50 centimetres wide. If it reads wrong, redo it first; the print files are rebuilt from whichever version you choose.

Keep the master file somewhere safe as well. Your link is the only login for this pack, so save it, and download everything you want to keep before the pack is deleted 30 days after purchase.
